Having qualified for the British Age Group Triathlon team to represent Great Britain at the World Age Group Triathlon Championships in Budapest in September, I was unfortunate to experience every athlete’s worst nightmare by picking up a calf injury three weeks prior to the event. The injury felt serious enough for me to have major doubts as to whether I would be fit enough to take part in the Championships. Matthew remained positive and optimistic from the outset, and with a combination of intensive treatment and graduated exercises I was able to take my place in the team, and even surpassed my expectations by achieving a world ranking of 27th. My thanks to Matthew for his important contribution to my success.
