Why suffer in pain when often treatment can be so effective. All our Physiotherapists are very experienced in dealing with all types of physical injury and pain.
Our treatments are evidence based and supported by the latest research. When treating injuries or pain we not only aim to settle the problem and return you to activity, but we also look at why the problem occurred in the first place. Maybe there is a weakness or biomechanical fault that needs to be addressed in order to prevent recurrence of the problem. Rest assured that during the whole treatment process you will be given advice about what to do and when, and how best to help yourself now and into the future.
Post Operative Rehabilitation
At Marple Physio we have many years of experience in post operative rehabilitation - whether it be after quite major surgery such as a joint replacement or after more minor but complex surgery such as a shoulder rotator cuff tear repair - we have the knowledge and experience to help.
After most forms of orthopaedic surgery it is necessary to undergo a period of rehabilitation. Surgery is often fantastic at repairing damaged tissue but does not deal with the way your body has adapted to the problem before surgery. Post operative rehabilitation is aimed at decreasing post operative swelling, regaining joint movement and function and getting you back to work, sport or hobbies as soon as possible. All this is done in constant communication with your consultant.
Sports Injuries
Treatment of Sports Injuries is one of our specialist areas. Our physios have many years of experience working with athletes of all levels from elite professionals to keen weekend warriors. At Marple Physio we will assess your injury, looking not only at what is wrong but also looking at why the problem occurred in the first place, so that we can help prevent future occurrences. Treatment will then be aimed at returning you to your sport as soon as possible.
Working alongside our Physios we have an experienced Sports Podiatrist, specialising in biomechanics, and a Sports Massage Practitioner, who also works with elite athletes at the English institute of Sport, Manchester. We have excellent links with orthopaedic consultants specialising in sports injury so that if we feel a surgical opinion is needed this can be organised easily and swiftly.
